A New Day

Can you say you are grateful for what you have endured because you have come into a closer relationship with your savior Jesus Christ (and because of THAT one thing you can say you are more like Him than you would have been had you not endured this thing)?

What are you grateful for? Not just things that are your blessings from God, but what trial or tribulation have you endured(or are enduring) that you are TRULY grateful for? Are you grateful because of the One who was by your side, who taught you and what you learned through it? Are you grateful because you are now more like Him than you would have been without it? I finally think I'm getting it that what we fill our minds with increases. So when we fill our minds with whatever is unlovely, unpure, and untrue we get that and we leave no room for God's good that He wants togive us!!!!!!!!! AAAAHHH This is so refreshing.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever isright, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirableĆ¢€”ifanything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in meput it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8,9

Pastor Johnny said this verse a couple of weeks ago at Upward. It has come to me several times the last couple of weeks including last night when I was watching Oprah. She was talking about this DVD/Book called The Secret. Interesting and it really all boiled down to Philippians 4:8. They were explaining the whole "science" part of it which was sad but because of my faith I was able to listen with different ears and hear a message for me. The one lady talked about that our thoughts really are an order for life. Like when you go to a restaurant and you order your meal you expect it to be what you said or thought. Your thoughts are like placing an order. When you think "my life stinks"......you just ordered a stinky life. ha! She didn't say that but sort of......that was my interpretation. It wasn't just your thoughts though it was your belief (faith to me) that those things will be given to you. Someone else just said something like that recently....oh I know I think it was Dan talking about how we ask for things from God but we don't really believe they will happen. When we leave those little negative thoughts in there there's no room for it to happen.

Great blog for looking beyond ourselves for the answers and relying solely on God. Our doubts and the guilt that we hold on to can impede our progress and maybe the progress of others. I have been through the toughest year both physically and mentally but spiritually it has been my best year, talk about God working in mysterious ways. Thanks for blogging and letting me into your thoughts. Sorry it took me so long to comment.
